A shot of self confidence.

It's precisely two weeks now that I've been going out with Simona. Yes, I'm in a relationship and it's absolutely wonderful; it's like being in a romantic film ... or steamy novel even. It truly feels like I've met the woman of my dreams.

Anyway, she's in show business and last night she was invited to the premier of a movie – Leatherheads I think it was – plus after-movie reception. Yet she preferred to spend the evening with moi.

That's precisely the once in a lifetime situation every guy dreams of being in: she turned down George Clooney to be with me.

Actually, it's really my second — the first one isn't that interesting and there's not that much difference in technique between the two.

And by technique the correct image that should be evoked is that of a four year old child grasping a brush and swiping it across a large sheet of paper while his hands and face are covered in a rainbow of colours.

Thirty odd years later I've at least managed not to get paint on myself. Now I only need to practice a lot more and improve my other skills.
